Stanford University recently hosted a seminar titled “Hacking Consciousness” that featured leaders in the field of human development. In this thought-provoking talk, neuroscientist Fred Travis explains why the human brain can be more accurately described as “a river, not a rock,” and reveals the role of neuroplasticity in mind-brain development.
As director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management, Dr. Travis says that the mission of the Brain Center is to delineate brain changes associated with the growth of higher states of human development. The center primarily studies the effects of the Transcendental Meditation technique.
